Mooring Stations
About: Mooring technology – buoys, metrological and coastal stations – are the real time eyes on the water. Mariners need to know the true local conditions before heading out. Data from these stations are used to 1) improve marine weather forecasts and models, 2) increase accuracy for storm track and storm surge inundation, 3) support scientific research, and 4) issue marine warnings.
Theme Areas: Marine Operations; Coastal Hazards; Climate Variability; Ecosystems, Water Quality, and Living Marine Resources.
